I recently had the wonderful opportunity to create a custom oval moissanite ring with a thin band.
The oval center stone is beautifully accented with round lab-diamonds. If you are new here, it’s no secret that we love this combination!
The Thin Band

Thin rings have become extra popular recently. This has been fueled by the desire to have a ring that is dainty and also minimalist.
This ring was designed with an thin band, just 1.5 millimeters in thickness! The transition into the accent stones works beautifully as I used the same stone size as the thin band. It’s a seamless transition!
Computer Aided Design (CAD!)
Using CAD, we can see exactly how the ring will look before it is cast in the metal. Whenever I make custom rings, I always utilize this technology. This allows the client to see and collaborate with the goldsmith directly.
The CAD can be tweaked as you go to ensure it is just right. Once the final design in approved, the ring will then be turned into the real thing!

Moissanite Goodness

Not only was this ring made with a thin band, it was also made to be durable! This starts with the stones.
Moissanite is rated excellent for every day wear. This is due to the fact that a moissanite is nearly as hard as a diamond! . Moissanite is a diamond alternative that is extremely popular with couples looking to get engaged.
In addition, moissanite is conflict friendly, sustainable, and less expensive than diamonds! To learn more, read our post about The Benefits Of A Moissanite Engagement Ring.
